McKenzie Pass (Oct 2004)
McKenzie Pass, Oregon (East of Eugene). We stopped at Proxy Falls, the outlook at McKenzie Pass, and other scenic stops. (Extra photos in the personal gallery.)
My first outing with the new Canon EOS-20D camera, my first SLR. I also rented a pro-quality lens (EF 28-70 f/2.8 L) for the weekend. Still amateur technique, but now the equipment wasn't an excuse.

on January 4, 2008I bet the exposure latitude of this shot must be very high. See between rays of bright sunlight through the leaves and the dark grey tree trunks in the shade.
Very accurate exposure metering. Both shadows and high lights are well captured.
